“To Whom It May Concer:
ismy pleasure to write to you on behalf of Julie Marsh, { worked wits Julie during the summer of 2014
here at Holman Middle School while she was completing her administrative internship hours under the
supervision of Doug Saunders, Holmn'sITRT. Iam the Director of Sshool Counseling at Holman and
Jule assisted me in the planning and implementation of our sixth grade wanstion program that we hold
each yer Tor our rising sixth grade class, Through this process Iwas ale to see firsthand Julie's trong
‘work-etic and her pasion and dedication to education and children
Julies highly organized individul. This was a huge asset to me because Holman’s transition program
this year was fo approximately 300 students and ther parents. Each student needs to register, check-in,
havea schedule forthe day to fllow, and receive a flder specific to them. This requies attention to
etl, ganization, and ime management—all of which Julie does well! Julie and I sx weekly
‘meetings, which se always arrived on ime fr, and she consist hal her asks completed well before
the deadline. Her creativity and knowledge of technology was a great hsp to me when brainstorming and
implemensing new ideas. One goal ofa ranstion program this large io always keep moving forward
ith itso it doesn't stant to feel stale or inefTective far those who panciat in it year ater year. Julie not
only brought new ideas tothe table bu also helped me implement ones that Ihad. This program is
‘ypiclly organized and planned out by one person, and to have the level of help Juli provided was a
hug advantage forthe process. Julio's ard work, attention to dtl, ard professionalism allowed me to
now that she could handle anything that ame up from paperwork to arent questions. [never fel the
rood to watch over her closely because Tknew I could trust her udgmert and abilities, That ea trae asset
ina eam member and coworker, and one [was grateful for during this process
(Often after working with an intera Tam asked my opinion ofthe individual and if would ever hire
hiner. My response o this question in reference to Jali is absolutely, Jule i man, dedicated, easy
‘o-communicate with, and organized. These are qualities tat allow hero not only bean essential
member ofa stoo| staf but also allow her to provide siruture and positive leadership to others. Uhave
no doubis in er abilities to bea succesful leader in a school. I, perzondlly, have been in an
administrative role for five years now and have had many experiences with a variety of leaders within a
School setting throughout that time. Julie is someone that I would nt orly weleome the opportunity to
‘work with in that environment, but ook forward toi 3s well
Ifyou should have any other questions regarding Julie, I would be happy to answer them and ean be
reached at 804-346-1310. Thank you for your ime.
Sincerely,
JAAN CL
