Letter of Recommendation

I know Mr. Subramanian Anand Swaminathan for the past three years in the
capacity of his English teaching professional and a staff associate of the students club.
He is a conscientious student who has a sense of achieving the desired goal and a spirit of
sustaining working towards it.
In my English classes, during the interactive lesions like brainstorming,
simulation of both convergent and divergent nature, I had the opportunity of observing
his oral proficiency. When a team of teachers along with the coordinator and the English
studies officer, Dr. Rathi Jafer, British Council Division, Chennai conducted oral test as a
part of its sponsored project English for Science and Technology, the applicant could
describe, discuss and analyze a problem persuasively. His turn-taking and turn-giving in
the group discussion were natural and logical. I believe it merits consideration of your
esteemed selection committee for admission and teaching/research assistantship. His
written English is quite good to fulfill the academic requirements of the graduate program
of your esteemed institution. The applicant is in the habit of reading the books of Norman
Vincent Peale, P.G Wodehouse and Peter Drucker and also the living texts called the
newspapers, magazines and journals like Indian Food Industry, Food world and other
journals of his discipline.
As a staff associate, I have observed Mr. Anands style of playing table Tennis and
he has brought laurels to the university both at inter collegiate level and national level
competitions. He has also been nominated as Secretary for the Placement Cell of Students
Club.
In Graduate Record Examination, he is one of the very few in our university to
score 2000 plus and I could place him among top 5% of the GRE candidates of our
university. His score in verbal skills, I believe, is above average and I am sure that he will
do well in the TOEFL test also.
A candidate with a proven academic record, oratorical skills and credentials in
sports, I hope, will be an asset to your renowned institution. I am sure that the applicant
will be able to stumble upon new path with the academic guidance and counseling of
your institution. I wish him success.

Dr. S. Hariharan
