Women Around the World

How does America change when
there is a drought? People start
panicking. Why? This is due to the
fact that water is essential for life.
We need it to survive, but also to
do daily activities, such as, bathing,
cooking, and cleaning. When water
is scarce in Nampula, where water
isnt already plentiful, things
become hectic. The wife becomes
stressed because she cannot
perform her daily duties. The
husband becomes angry because
he now has to help fetch the water
and is frustrated because the wife
cannot work without it. Their
relationship becomes strained.

Appalachian Women during the

Civil War Era
Families become stressed when their family members are
unhealthy, hurting, or broken. This is not a recent occurrence.
This has been happening since before the Civil War. Many
people do not know that Appalachia had slaves and that the
slave trade route extended over West Virginia, Virginia,
Tennessee, and Georgia. Families were constantly broken
apart due to the trading of slaves across the route. Husbands
were taken from their wives, children from their mothers,
and mothers from their families. This caused great stress on
the women because if her husband was taken away from her
or if she was removed from her husband, then she was
expected to remarry. If her children were taken away, then
she was still expected to have more. The women were
expected to continue working, having children, and be the
structure of their family no matter what happened.

What do you know about Bangladesh? Do

you even know where they are located?
They are normally over looked due to Indias
massive sub-continent. Bangladesh is a poor
and heavily populated country that has
gender inequality. Women work hard to
maintain a stable household. The men work
on the farm to create an economic status for
the household. However, the men cannot
work apart from the women because the
women create an imperative part to their growing
season. Women make trichoderma paste that helps the
crops grow and keeps diseases to a minimum. Without
the women, the crops would not be able to prosper and
the men would not be able to make money for the
household.

Women Across the World

Overall, it can be seen that the women are the
rock behind the household. They keep the
family going no matter how hard times can be.
Even though different places of the world treat
women differently, there is one common theme.
Every woman is unequal to their husband until
they contribute financially to the household.
Once the husband notices the wifes
contribution, then they start to realize the
wifes true worth. Also, once the men realize
that the women are contributing then they start
to treat them better. The domestic
relationships in every previously discussed
scenario have improved once the husband
started viewing the wife positively. He may not
have seen her as equal, but he saw her efforts
and started respecting her.

areas of the world.
