Dear Parents and/or Guardians,

Welcome to Kelly Elementary School! My name is Kristina Bassiacos

and I will be student teaching with Mrs. Barlett in your childs Kindergarten
classroom this fall. I am really looking forward to learning from Mrs.
Barletts years of experience as well as from your child. I had the
opportunity of working with Mrs. Barlett last spring and I cant wait to be
back in the classroom to watch your child grow this fall!
Kindergarten is a time of new beginnings! I feel very lucky to join you
on this educational journey. I will officially be in the classroom starting
September 10th until December 5th. I will begin my student teaching through
observation and I will slowly be taking on more teaching responsibilities as
the school year continues.
Let me tell you a little about myself! I am originally from a small town
in New Jersey. I have always enjoyed babysitting and spending time with
children. My senior year of high school I had the opportunity to work in a
first grade classroom daily where I found my true passion and desire to
teach. I am currently a senior at Bucknell University where I am pursuing
my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. I have had
the opportunity to tutor, volunteer at a local daycare and observe many
different classroom settings and grade levels. This summer I was a full
time, live in, nanny for a four-year boy in Brooklyn, NY. I became very close
to his family and enjoyed traveling the city with him this summer!
I look forward to meeting you and working with your child this year!
Please let me know if there is anything you want me to know about your
child. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me
through Mrs. Barlett.
Warmest regards,
Kristina Bassiacos
