Henrietta lacks was a mother who died from cervical cancer in 1951 and her tissues were
unknowingly taken from her. Her tissues later became sciences biggest accomplishment and her cells
were used to create vaccines and used in major breakthroughs. Her family found out six decades later
and was happy that their mother could help, but with her medical records being public the family was
worried about their privacy. They met with a group that took down the information, apologized to them
and Henrietta was finally given credit.
