Kemp Model - Evaluation

The project group launched the staff development plan course site to the test group on Monday,
November 10th. The test group included 5 faculty members and 6 staff members from Forrest
College. They were given one week to complete the course and submit feedback in the form of
an evaluation survey. The course evaluation survey included multiple choice questions and one
open ended question.
In analyzing the data for the Outlook 365 training, it was noted everyone took the time to
respond to the multiple choice survey questions and one person took the time to answer the open
ended question at the conclusion of the course.
With regard to the overall goals of Outlook 365, course/workshop being accomplished, 100% of
the participants reflected that the goals were completely accomplished. In evaluating the
effectiveness of the self-paced design of the course, 100% of the participants felt that the design
was very effective. Concerning the overall ease of access to the multimedia and content, 100%
of the participants found it very easy to access. In the evaluation of the tutorial providing
information that can be applied for future use 72.73% of the participants found many useful ideas
and 27.27% of the participants found few useful ideas.
A survey was also taken to see the participants familiarity with Outlook after taking the course.
100% of the participants felt extremely confident with logging in to Outlook 365, Using Outlook
365 on their mobile device, understanding of device security, and how to navigate and use
Outlook 365 email. Only 90.91% felt extremely confident on how to use Outlook 365 calendar
and Outlook People and 9.09% felt somewhat confident but needed more practice. 72.73% felt
extremely confident when trying to navigate and use Outlook 365 SkyDrive while 27.27% felt
somewhat confident but needed more practice. With regards to navigate and use Outlook 365
NewsFeed 81.82% felt extremely confident using this and 18.18% felt somewhat confident but
needed more practice.
Overall, the project team is happy with the results. The goal of the staff development plan was to
increase the skills level for Outlook 365. The final survey results indicate that the staff
development course was successful in meeting this goal. It is worth noting again that the
response to the final survey question was somewhat lower than the initial survey completed
during the analysis phase. The project team feels that time was the primary factor in the lower
submission rate.

In the open ended question ,one participant noted that the course was easy to access and
understand.
Plans for Revision
The project team for Outlook 365 is satisfied with the course and results. The survey results
indicate that the course successfully accomplishes the goals and objectives set forth during the
design phase. Because the course was designed in a technology-driven format, it can easily be
transferred to the Forrest College team for continued use and future improvements.

The project team also encourages everyone that uses Outlook 365 to allow Microsoft to capture
any issues that they may run into so they can better improve the actual program. There are also
some glitches within the actual Outlook interface and Microsoft is working on those. Some of
those glitches were discussed within the training as well.
The tutorials and videos that the project team created can also be easily transformed to an
instructor-led format in a traditional face-to-face classroom. Face-to-face learning in a
classroom will provide an interactive, hands-on experience, which may be more beneficial for
some learners. Face-to-face sessions will also provide an opportunity for interdisciplinary
content focus as well as peer support and collaboration. The blended model, which would
combine both the technology-drive format with face-to-face sessions, may be used as well.
