In my fourth artifact, Claims VS. Evidence has better my understanding on
distinguishing what a claim and evidence is. It was a worksheet that we have to choose
whether each sentence was a claim or evidence. It taught me that evidence does not prove
that you are right, but it is a way to test your claims and thesis. That evidence does not
stand-alone; we need to make a claim before we can have evidence. Distinguishing the
difference of what a claim and evidence is, it has benefited my writing skills by telling
me before I make a claim, I have to have some evidence to back me up. I can relate this
to my life and my future essays. I can relate it to life because before I can make an
accusation, I need my evidence. Same goes for my writing, it will just be an opinion until
proven.
