ENG 101 Casey Corcoran In my fourth artifact, Claims VS. Evidence has better my understanding on distinguishing what a claim and evidence is. It was a worksheet that we have to choose whether each sentence was a claim or evidence. It taught me that evidence does not prove that you are right, but it is a way to test your claims and thesis. That evidence does not stand-alone; we need to make a claim before we can have evidence. Distinguishing the difference of what a claim and evidence is, it has benefited my writing skills by telling me before I make a claim, I have to have some evidence to back me up. I can relate this to my life and my future essays. I can relate it to life because before I can make an accusation, I need my evidence. Same goes for my writing, it will just be an opinion until proven.
