Japanese Reflection
My name is Jahaziel Luis, I was born in a small town in Mexico called
Loxicha, Oaxaca. My family migrated from Mexico when I was about 8 months
old and decided to live in a small house in Los Angeles, California so I may have a
bright future. Theres a story that fascinated me when I was growing up, its a tale
my mother would tell me (I believe it may have come from the bible) she would
say In heaven there were 7 angels, each spoke a different language, but none
spoke any other language than the one they knew I would tell her, how would
they understand each other if they only spoke one language? She would tell me
Although they didnt speak other languages, they understood everything the other
angel would say. I would dream of being in a group of people and converse as the
angels did in the story. My goal in life is to learn as many languages as possible
and learning Japanese is just the tip of the ice berg. Languages are very unique and
beautiful in their own way yet so complicated, making the experience of learning a
new language very fulfilling. One of the reasons I made this my life goal is so I
may one day travel with my mother and show her all the sights of the countries she
wished to travel when she was growing up.
