This class has required me to think and develop skills I didnt have before. It has influenced me in critical ways such as teaching me to be open-minded, understanding what truth is, and how I want to proceed with my education. Despite being a math kind of guy I have enjoyed this class the most this semester. It might seem like an online course might not be that engaging, but as far as interactive the weebly site and reflections forced me to reexamine each assignment I have done for the course. The way in which the projects were set up was extremely helpful in developing perspective as well as the development of my writing style. The reflections were tedious, but critical for the evaluation of the works in the class. My style of writing has matured in format as well as context. The most difficult and frustrating part about the course was when I was putting my portfolio together. The reflections were out of order with project three and forced me to change some reflection letters so I could use previous reflections from project 3. I also believe that there are only eleven reflection questions as opposed to the twelve that were being asked. I wasnt sure whether to reference my projects, how they were reviewed, my opinions, or other outside sources in order to fulfill the editing requirement for each reflection. The formats of the example weebly sites, the weebly editing video on week two, the video for project three reviews on week 15, the portfolio prompt on week 2, and the portfolio prompt for week fifteen were all differently formatted and made it extremely difficult to decipher how you would like the portfolio to be, and took up a considerable
amount of time. Overall, despite difficulties, I believe I developed substantially as
a writer and thinker, and with a little more clear instructions as well as one explicit/consistent rubric I believe this course will be spot on and a pleasure for any incoming student if they choose to put the time and effort forth. Thank-you for a wonderful introduction to college writing, and I hope the course continues to evolves in a similar fashion as the students it influences to evolve.
