REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION


Window Glass Front Door
Removal and Installation
NOTE: LH shown, RH similar.

CAUTION: Make sure the holes in the


glass bracket do not become enlarged during
the rivet removal process. If the holes
become enlarged, the new rivets may become
loose, resulting in a clicking noise concern.

1.

Remove the front door trim panel. For


additional information, refer to Section 501-05.

NOTE: Some vehicles may use rivets to attach


the window glass to the window regulator
assembly.

2.

Remove the front door speaker. For additional


information, refer to Section 415-00.

NOTE: Use a 4.5 mm (0.1772 in) drill bit to


drill out the glass-to-regulator rivets.

3.

Remove the interior moulding.

4.

Remove the exterior mirror front door weather


shield.

5.

Disconnect the exterior mirror electrical


connector.

6.

Release the 3 door wiring harness pin-type


retainers.

7.

Remove the front door weather shield.

8.

Remove the door trim panel reinforcement.

Remove the 2 front door window


glass-to-regulator bolts or rivets.

Position the front door window glass as


necessary to access the front door window
glass-to-regulator bolts or rivets.

To install, tighten the bolts to 7 Nm (62


lb-in) or install new rivets.

10. Remove the front window glass.

Pull the glass out through the top inboard


side of the door.

11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
