CIP TOPIC CHOICE

For group 6's CIP we chose to research transgender people in the media. We chose this topic
because there is a plethora of information like stories, facts, etc. that can be used as valuable insight for
the project. Also, I felt that the topic was very interesting as I have never met a transgender person and
known it. As an African American teenager I also understand part of their struggle with being
discriminated against and I disagree with all aspects of discrimination and mistreatment. For the project
Rachel Wilson will be in charge of our genre design, Kerrington Misher will be in charge of researching
transgender people and different situations that people have been involved in, and my job is to look up
different media representation of transgender people. Through all of that research we hope to shed
light on the issues that transgender humans face in the media today.
