Dear Mrs., Parker,

I would like to take the opportunity to work as a First Year Teacher at Spring Valley Elementary,
as advertised on the DPS website. I have recently acquired a bachelors degree in Elementary
Education from North Carolina Central University and would now like to apply my teaching
expertise in a real time environment. Although I have not been had any experience working as a
teacher while I was studying for my degree, I believe that I have enough experience working
with children to be proficient and affective in teaching.

During my time in the Teacher Education Program at North Carolina Central University, I have
obtained various skills that will allow me to assist the different needs of each child to ensure they
have the best chance at learning. I pride myself on being able to create constructive, efficient,
and engaging lesson plans for all subject areas. Additionally, I know and understand the different
aspects it takes to being an educator that assists each student in reaching their maximum
potential.

I am excited to the prospect of joining Spring Valley Elementary as a First Year Teacher. Thank
