Dear Class,
I agree with the part of the text where he talks about the students thinking that the
college writing class is a rerun of Grade 12 English. I was expecting this class to just be
another English class, I was glad to find out its actually a class that can help me improve my
writing. The part that confuses me most is the socio-psycholinguist. Honestly, I dont really get
any of the theories because the description for each one is too abstract. I think this reading
really relates to our class because we were all just in high school so were used to all that stuff
of grammar and literature and whatnot so its good to get some perspective on the rest of the
class and what its all about. I liked that the author went into so much detail about the theme of
the class and what well actually be doing and that this class will actually teach me how to
become a better writer, rather than just write different things like journals and research papers
over and over again without learning anything that Im doing wrong.
