Explain any five of the following with appropriate sketches if necessary: i. Inviscid incompressible flow of a viscous compressible fluid. ii, Velocity based and Potential based panel methods. iii, Vortex induced drag and its variation with incidence and aspect ratio. iv. Camber line of an airfoil and its’ influence on the airfoil lift. v. The slender wing theory is applicable to compressible (subsonic and supersonic) flows but the lifting line theory is not. - Why? vi. Pressure jump along a spanwise line on a thin, slender delta wing. vi Neumann and Dirichlet boundary conditions. ‘Construct the camber line that leads to a constant pressure jump along the aerofoil hord line at zero angle of attack. 20% thick Zhukovsky airfoil set at zero angle of attack to a free stream of 50 a lift coefficient of 0.3. What will be the lift coefficient at 5°? Derive the used.
