RESOLUTION 115-2014

Authorize Negotiation and Execution of a Contract with

Lawson Fisher and Associates for Design Engineering Services for
Millrace Canal Levee Stabilization at 1245 Wilson Avenue, Goshen, Indiana
WHEREAS a levee leak in the Millrace Canal has been identified at 1245 Wilson Avenue and the City has
been proactive in evaluating the concern by consulting with Lawson Fisher and Associates; and
WHEREAS it was determined that canal bank improvements were warranted and a design quote from
Lawson Fisher and Associates was solicited; and
WHEREAS it is requested that Goshen Redevelopment Commission authorize City staff to negotiate a
Contract with Lawson Fisher and Associates for the Design Engineering Services for Millrace Canal Levee
Stabilization as is consistent with their proposal, a copy of which is attached to this Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Goshen Redevelopment Commission that:
1.

City staff is authorized to negotiate a Contract on behalf of the City of Goshen and the Goshen
Redevelopment Commission with Lawson Fisher and Associates that is consistent with their
proposal attached to this Resolution.

2.

The City of Goshen Legal Department shall prepare a written Contract to be executed by the City
of Goshen for these services.

3.

The Contract shall be presented to the Redevelopment Commission for approval at a subsequent
Redevelopment Commission meeting.
