Child: Bella

Date: 10/29/14

Setting: Infant Center, 11:15am, four babies awake near the slide area, two teachers and myself.

Observation: Bella is standing on the slide in the classroom. Bella sits down and slides down
the slide. She is looking at the teacher. She says, Hello, with a big smile. Bella stands up and
walks back up the slide. She squats down behind the side of the slide, and then pops up.
Teacher #1 says, Peek a boo! Bella laughs a short laugh then squats down again. She pops up.
Teacher #1 ducks down, so Bella cannot see her. Bella looks around. Teacher #1 pops up and
says, Peek a boo! Bella looks startled. Bella starts to laugh. She then walks down the slide,
towards a basket on the floor. Bella pulls out a dress up dress out of the basket, and then throws
it on the floor. She grabs a brown hat and places it on top of Teacher #2s head. She pulls out a
scarf. She places the scarf on to Teacher #2s knee. She walks over to the dolls and picks one
up. She brings it over to Teacher #2. Teacher #2 wraps the doll in the scarf. Bella smiles, grabs
the baby and holds it in a hugging motion. She walks away. The scarf is dragging on the floor,
and she steps on it as she is walking. She steps on the scarf, and falls forward with the doll.
