Current situation of Buddhism in srilanka

Today I have got a very interesting topic and first of all I would like to speak history of
buddisam in srilanka.
The history of Buddhism in Sri Lanka begins with the Emperor Ashoka of India .Ashoka
the Great was a patron of Buddhism, and when King Tissa of Ceylon sent an emissary
to India, Ashoka seized, the opportunity to put in a good word about Buddhism to the
King.
Without waiting for a reaction from King Tissa, the Emperor sent his son Mahinda and
his daughter Sanghamitta -- a monk and a nun -- to Tissa's court. Soon the King and his
court were converted.
Today about 70 percent of the citizens of Sri Lanka are Theravada Buddhists but all
most people have got wrong idea about Buddhism. Why they dont apply Buddhas great
word, for example our lord Buddha said that u must followed prathipathi pojja and
amisapooja, but people always followed amisapooja such as giving money to beggars,
building thoran and dansel.they dont consider about prathipathi pooja which is
importance. it is good and help us to develop our thinkings and pin, but that is not real
way, we must live according to prathipathipooja, such as avoiding lob dosa moha, and
must try to control word, thinking and behavior. Some peoples and monks give more
dansels and money but they dont make their minds. We must achieve that and our
target should be nirwanaya. it has 4 steps, like sowwan, skurdagami, anagami, arahath.
Finally , I will give some idea about this situations it means when if u do something good
u will get good results and feel good effects and if u do something wrong u will get bad
result and feel bad effects. that is the true story. Thanks
