1. a) World Population in 2050: 9.5 billion
b) More developed regions population in 2050: 1.4 billion
c) Less developed regions population in 2050: 7.3 billion
d) Percentage of total world population that each region makes in
2050:
North America: 446,862,000
South America: 750,956,000
Europe: 719,257,000
Africa: 2,191,599,000
Asia: 5,142,220,000
Oceania: 55,233,000
e) Steps 1-4 in 2010:
North America: 347 million
South America: 596 million
Europe: 740 million
Africa: 1,031 million
Asia: 4,165 million
Oceania: 37 million
World Population: 6,895,889,018
More developed regions population in 2010: 1.2 million
Less developed regions population in 2010: 5.7 million
f) What does this tell you?
This tells me that the more reproduction there is the more people are in
less developed regions in the world. The population in all areas has
growth rapidly.

b) Highest fertility rate and why?
Africa has the highest fertility rate because they dont have contraceptives
or they arent introduced to contraceptives. The medical care and
medicine in Africa is not as developed as the rest of the world. Africa has
very limited about of sources and education since they are still a less
developed country.
c) The birth rate has increased over time so the population also
increases. This means more babies have been born more rapidly. So
every couple people a new baby is born.

d) The death rate has decreased or stayed the same because the
world population is still rapidly growing even though the amount of
death are staying the same.
e) The life expectancy has grown because of the advancement of
medicine.
3. The two most important variables in population growth in the increase of
the birth rate and the decreasetion or the constant death rate. With these
two variables the population has grown.
4. The problem with computer models to predict population expansion is
they show the population expansion by what in going on know and just
multiply in when there can be a difference in the expansion. They are
valid to a certain extent.
5. Population of Canada in 1950: 14,011,422
Population of Canada in 2050: 41,135,648
