Dear Mr. Labra and Recreation Staff:
The report attached to this letter covers the background of bowling and intramural sports to show
the potential for bowling to become an intramural sport here at Ferris. I am a senior here at Ferris
and participate in intramurals sports every semester. You and the University Rec department
have well organized events and I want to present this option. I recommend it because there is no
bowling leagues that are coordinated by the university. It would be convenient for students if
bowling leagues were set up through Ferris State intramurals. With the increasing number of
students on campus here in Big Rapids, there is room for more recreational activities to be added.
In addition to background information the report also discusses advantages of bowling being an
intramural sport, as well as ideas for league play and organization. You will also see that I have
incorporated list of safety tips into the report. I discuss the ultimate solution to the current
situation and go over what I suggest should be the next steps in making this happen. To conclude
I discuss why adding new recreational options for students is important for an individual as well
as the student body.
