Monday: Anticipatory Set: * Independence Day and History of the American Flag Video ‘Vocabulary: History: The study of past events Indians: First people in North America Hides: Animal skin used for human survival ‘Teepee: A portable tent made of skins, cloths, or canvas on a frame of poles, used by American Indians. © Diagonal Lines: A straight line that goes from corner to comer. * Geometric form: Precise lines that are sharply defined, * Three-dimensional figure: 3 dimensions; length, width, and depth, Information: 1. Iwill start by asking students where they were originally from. I will then tell ‘them where I am from and any of my family history. I wll explain the first, ‘Americans and how they came about. 2. Iwill talk about the vocabulary word Indian, and who they were. How they survived, and some ofthe different tribes. 3. Next Iwill talk about the social studies vocabulary word hides and explain how and what they were used for. will have pictures of different hides used as clothing and tepees, ‘4 Students will learn the vocabulary word tepee and how they were used. They willbe looking atall the different animal hides, Indians used to survive. 5. Iwill introduce the 3 art vocabulary words, dlagonal lines, geometrie form, and 3D shapes. | will demonstrate the difference between diagonal ines and horizontal, vertical, and straight lines. I will then demonstrate the difference between 2D and 3D. Activity/Assessment: 1.
