Two-minute outline
Antagonist -Elliot Robert aged (Michael Dave Douglas)
Victim- Maya Brown aged 17 (Stefania Dormico)
Elliot is a house burglar, who has recently been monitoring the houses in Chigwell.
Mayas mum and dad have just left the house (this part is not shown in the actual
sequence) but have accidently left the door open. Elliot goes on his routine walks
around the area to inspect and prepare to break to the houses in that area.
Alley Way Establishing shot
For the first half of the opening sequences the audience only get glimpses of Elliot
never seeing the whole of his face. As he walks through the alleyway we get shots of
his feet, high angles, shots with the use of depth of field this builds the suspense
though out the opening. He walks out of the alley way and walks in the direction of
Mayas house-Elliots face is still not revelled at this point. As he gets closer to her
house, we get an extreme closes of his eyes which build the atmosphere which
creates a greater interest from the audiences.
As he comes across Mayas house and he notices the front door has been left open,
he feel as if this is the right time to break in, so he slowly walks up the drive getting
closer to the front door. We continue to imagine what he looks like as his face has
not yet been revealed. As he gets to door he looks around him and slowly enters at
this point the audience get to see his face. He slides his body in a closes the door to
how it was found, he then reaches into his pocket and pulls out a pair of rubber
gloves. He then walks up to one of the doors in the house to check if anyone is
around. He then takes himself upstairs in a cautious manner, as he reaches upstairs
he notices Mayas bedroom door slightly open which encourages him to entre. As he
opens the door the music starts to pick up and Maya is introduced to the scene, we
see her to be asleep and Elliot moves closer till her gets to her bedside. This is the
point where Elliot turns frim a house burglar to a rapist and murderer. Elliot slowly
moves his hand towards Mayas face. He grabs her face and aggressively rips the
bed sheets off. Maya in shock starts to scream and in struggling to free herself. The
scene will then fades out and cut to a glimpse of Elliot walking out of a forestry area.
