Reflection of Classroom
My desk will be in the front of the class so that I can see all of my students. I will also
want it in the opposite corner of the door so that I can see when people arrive/leave or poke their
heads in. I plan on having students turn homework into a bin that will be on my desk that is
labeled by class period.
Everyday I will have a powerpoint on the projector to guide my lessons. When students
walk into my room they will see a powerpoint slide with the objective, the materials they will
need for class, homework that is due for the day, and homework that will be due next class. At
the end of class I will pull up a slide with the homework assignment again so that students are
reminded of what they have to do. Separate from the projector I will have another small board
where I will post homework assignments and upcoming events so that the students who were
absent the day before can come in and see what they have to do for makeup work instead of
asking me directly and taking away class time.
I would prefer to have individual student desks so that I can form a U shape around the
classroom. I believe this is the best way to set up a classroom because students cannot hide
behind other students sitting in front of them, everyone can see the projector and me when I
lecture, and all students are facing each other which gives them a sense of unity.

I will put posters and student projects along the walls of my classroom with the most
helpful hints and phrases in the front of the room. The other three walls will be decorated with
students projects and course related material.
