At Competitively Low Prices. 1010°C (1850°F) SERIES RL PL FPL Grade “A” 80-20 nickel-chrome wire assures top quality in our extra-efficient low watt density series ‘The wire is helically wound and placed in the refrac- tory backing grooves. The helically wound coils are exposed in our standard heaters but can be ‘embedded if specified. These heaters have good resistance against attack by most commonly used protective atmospheres-with the exception of {gases containing suiphures. 1204°C (2200°F) SERIES RH PH FPH An alloy of iron, chrome and aluminum is used to ‘obtain the exceptionally high recommended ‘operating temperature. The helically wound alloy coil is embedded in a cement with good thermal con- ductivity characteristics. The coils are embedded to prevent the coil from “growing” out of the ceramic backing when heated. Heaters can be used unembedded when fast response is required. The alloy used is very durable at high temperatures if operated in air; a protective oxide layer is formed by the reaction of the material with the oxygen in the air. RECOMMENDED MAXIMUM OPERATING TEMPERATURE Both the 1010°C (1850°F) and 1204’ (2200'F) series heaters produce even, uniform heat operated at recommended temperatures. TO OBTAIN MAXIMUM UNIT LIFE, do not operate above these temperatures, REFRACTORY TOLERANCES We recommend that any tubes, pipes or circular items used with the circular heaters (RL and RH series) be kept 1/8-1/2 inch under the nominal inside dimension (°C’) since there may be small variations in the refractories. Larger |.D.'s require a minimum clearance of not less than 3/8" To maximize the life of the cylindrical heating ‘element, maintain radial spacing of 1/16" per inch iameter of the process tube between the I.D. of, the heating element and the O.D. of the tube. Double this radial spacing factor when heating metallic process tubes at temperatures over 900°C. We recommend 1/8" clearance per inch of reactor tube at these higher temperatures. IBERCRAFT by Thermcraft HIGH TEMPERATURE FIBER INSULATION PACKAGES. Thermcraft now offers Fibercraft’ Insulating Packages.
