A,B,C,D and E race each other in a 100 meters race.

All of them run at individual

constant speeds throughout the race.
A beats C by 10 meters.

How many meters does Rooney beat Robin by ?

A pot contains 75 white beans and 150 black ones. Next to the pot is a large pile of black beans.
A cook removes the beans from the pot, one at a time, according to the following strange rule:
He removes two beans from the pot at random. If at least one of the beans is black, he places it
on the bean-pile and drops the other bean, no matter what color, back in the pot. If both beans
are white, on the other hand, he discards both of them and removes one black bean from the pile
and drops it in the pot.
At each turn of this procedure, the pot has one less bean in it. Eventually, just one bean is left in
the pot. What color is it?white

There are one thousand lockers and one thousand students in the school. The
principal asks the first student to go to every locker and open it. Then he has
the second student go to every second locker and close it. The third goes to
every third locker and, if it is closed, he opens it, and if it is open, he closes it.
The fourth student does this to every fourth locker, and so on. The process
continues until the thousandth student has done his job. The 20th student
among them is very naughty. He goes and secretly does his part of the job
once again, that is goes to every 20th locker and closes the open ones and
opens the closed lockers. Find the number of lockers which are finally open.
Solution:
The only lockers that remain open are perfect squares (1, 4, 9, 16, etc)
because they are the only numbers divisible by an odd number of whole
numbers; every factor other than the number's square root is paired up with
another. Thus, these lockers will be "changed" an odd number of times, which
means they will be left open. All the other numbers are divisible by an even
number of factors and will consequently end up closed.
So the number of open lockers is the number of perfect squares less than or
equal to one thousand. The locker numbers are 1,4,9,16up to 31^2. So 31

lockers are open.
