Jose Garcia Villa

He was born in Manila in 1906

He finished his BA in 1932 at

the University of New Mexico.

Completed his M.A. at Columbia
University.
In 1961 he received the Pro
Patria Award.

In 1973 the University of the

Philippines gave him its highest

academic award, the Doctor of
Humane Letters, honoris causa.
On June 12, 1973 he received
the National Artist award for his
many literary accomplishments.
