Ice Breaker
Picker & Choosers
I learned about this game in high school, my teacher divided the room in half with tape
and told us all to move our desk and stand on the tape. Pretty sure she got it from the Freedom
Writers movie, but when we were all standing on the tape she would call on someone to ask a
question, it can be any question weather its deciding if we watch this TV show, music, food
interest, sports teams anything that was appropriate for our senior class. When the question was
asked and if agreed to the question would take a step back and if u didnt a step forward and if
you were neutral then u stay on the tape. Game was simple and she also made it to a quiz game
such as to prepare us for a test or quiz and it was fun and more efficient to use it as a study game
because once we choose our answer she would ask us as a group why we chose that answer,
every question would be a different team. Great ice breaker to use on the first day of class and an
excellent study game. When I become a teacher for 5th and 6th graders I would use this but
mostly for preparation for exams but the first day of classes to know who my students are and
what they know and just to get them more.
