Ms. Johnson is a very creative and unique teacher. She is able to take some of the simplest concepts in dance and other areas and apply them in the most creative ways. ‘Through her creative lesson planning this semester, Ms. Johnson assisted me through my Professional Learning Community (PLC group) by creating innovative dance lesson plans that aligned with 6" grade Science standards. Ms. Johnson took the weakest, lowest scoring concept areas from the 2013-2014 PASS testing, and created a way for students to apply it through movement. The 6" grade Science teachers assisted Ms. Johnson by reviewing the lesson plan and providing feedback. ‘Through reading the lesson, the teachers were excited to see Ms. Johnson apply this area within Dance. Many teachers commented on the fact that the students were coming to class talking about what they were learning and applying it within the Science classroom. Ithas been interesting watching Ms. Johnson create these exciting lessons and implementing them. The students have never had a dull moment in class and have always been eager to hold meaningful conversations. I feel that Ms. Johnson's creativity will help her to excel as a Dance Educator.
