Dear Mr. XXXXXX:
On October 1 I was made award of an opportunity for employment at your company by my finance professor at
Brigham Young University, Jim XXXX. I am excited for the opportunity to work in this field and add value to your
company. Due to my past work experience and education, I feel that I am qualified for the position. I want to share
with you how I feel these qualities will help Taxhawk, Inc. grow.
Education and Work Experience
From my experience, most college students dont have a thorough understanding of taxes. I have taken several
courses that have required me to file my own tax return as a grade. This has led me to filing my own taxes for the
past several years. I believe that this education of taxes will separate me from other applicants. Another attribute
that I have that distinguishes me from others is my work ethic. I am responsible for putting myself through school,
so I worked two jobs over the past six months to save up money. While I dont always have two jobs during school,
I have always worked at least one. Because I have to work to put myself through school, I take great pride in how
hard I work. I hope you will consider this as I apply for this position.
These are just several examples of how my education and work experience qualify me for the position. Enclosed is
my resume that gives more details about my education and work experience. Once you have taken the time to
review these items I would appreciate the opportunity to set an appointment with you discuss any questions you
may have. I know you are busy, so I will contact you during the week of November 8 to set up an interview. Thank
you for your time.
Sincerely,

Kaleb Jensen
