Although the Sefer Yetzirah includes

the sphere of Tifaret in its scheme, it
doesnt count it as a sefirah. Instead
Tifaret is identified as a mysterious
central component called the Holy
Temple.

The three mother

letter pathways (pictured below
right) extend from Keter to
Daat; Daat to Tifaret; Tifaret to
Yesod. They form the Middle
Pillar of the Tree and symbolize
cosmic forces flowing invisibly
beneath the surfacelike sap
flowing through its trunk and
branches.

The Sefer Yetzirah identifies Ain Sof

(pictured right) as the first sefirah of
the Tree of Life. It excludes Malkut as
a sefirah because Malkut embodies the
World of Assiah.
