Global Hospitals Conducts Awareness Programme to

Commemorate Infection Control Week for Schools


Hyderabad: With an aim to create awareness on good health, prevention of various

diseases and to commemorate Infection Control Week, Global Hospitals, Lakdi-ka-Pul


Nagar organized a three-day awareness programme for school children on Healthy
Practices.
The endeavor of the programme was to create health awareness and importance of a

healthy lifestyle, so that these school children can be the ambassadors of good health in
the community. Programmes like health talks, skits, video clips and dances around the
theme of infection control and health practices were organized.
Four hundred students participated in the three-day programme. The schools that
participated in the program are Little Flower High School, Queens International School,
Majidia Government High School, Government High School Raj Bhavan Road,
Government High School NBT Nagar and Radiant Government School.
It is very important that students are taught the importance of a healthy lifestyle
management and prevention as they are the citizens of tomorrow who will take the
country forward. Our aim is to invite schools in our vicinity from time to time and to
organize similar programs, Dr. Hirendranath, Vice-President, Medical Services, Global
Hospitals said.
He also added that apart from making them understand the importance of good health,
we also provide them with Health Guide prepared by the hospital so that they can carry
home what they have learnt and also pass it on to others in the community.
Healthy habits in childhood promote optimal childhood health, growth and intellectual
development; prevent immediate health problems like iron deficiency anemia, obesity,
eating disorders and dental caries. Healthy habits at a young age also help prevent longterm health problems, such as coronary heart disease, cancer, and strokes. Health
awareness programmes for children at school help them attain develop healthy habits
from their childhood and empower them with the skills to adopt long-term, healthy
behaviors, Dr K.V. Kamesh, Consultant Internal Medicine, Global Hospitals said.
