Reflection & Rationale

INTASC Standard: Standard #10 - The teacher seeks appropriate leadership roles and
opportunities to take responsibility for student learning, to collaborate with learners, families,
colleagues, other school professionals, and community members to ensure learner growth, and to
advance the profession.

Brief Description of Artifact:

The artifact is a Parent Newsletter I submitted in EDUC 101. The Parent Newsletter is
important for educators to share important classroom information with parents and to encourage
parent/teacher collaboration and communication.

Analysis of What I Learned:

From this assignment I learned the importance of organization, leadership and parent
collaboration. As a future educator I recognize that parental involvement is very important for
every students academic progress.

How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the INTASC Standard:

This artifact demonstrates my acquired knowledge of INTASC Standard 10 by the
organization, leadership and collaboration I show by involving parents, students and other staff
members in classroom curriculum and progress.
