Revolution
They said they wanted a totally equal nation. They were wrong Americans once again committed
a great mistake. The Government had finally achieved what they wanted, the control of the
populace. They have turned stupidity into a norm. Someone has to change this and that someone
is me. I will no longer stand around and watch as the strong are reduced to weaklings and the
smart are made stupid. And so, I will succeed where Harrison has failed, I will put down the
oppressors. Oh how rude of me, my name is Jason Bergeron, and my brother, Harrison Bergeron,
was murdered by the Handicapper General. When I was fifteen years old I fled from the comfort
of my home, my family, to avoid the burden of the handicaps. I fled to the wilderness like a
coward. I watched as my country men were enslaved. And I knew that it was my destiny to free
America from the Handicapper General. I created a resistance network that covered the whole of
North America. Harrison must have rebelled because he had been inspired by someone in my
network. And he did an excellent job at rebelling until the H-G killed him. Harrison was not
killed because he took off his handicaps, he was killed because he wanted what our forefathers
wanted, he wanted to be treated equally, not to become like everyone else. He tried to start a
revolution by getting in front of the world and telling everyone to rebel. Right before he and his
friend were martyred. Despite Harrisons efforts the H-G made sure nobody remembered them.
Harrisons short lived revolution affected a few, but those few have been busy. Busy collecting

weapons and ammunition. My men have been waiting for Freedom Day for years and now the
time is right.
1Week Later
We had commenced in a national one day assault, the H-G are reporting that they are engaging
us all over the nation. Right now I stand on the roof of the H-G Headquarters. My best soldiers,
Drew and Jack escort Diana Moon Glampers to me. At first she looks at me with confusion and
says. You look familiar, have we meet. I answer. I am, but we have not met. I turn my gaze
towards where the raging battle is occurring. They only sounds are the familiar cracks of AKs
firing off multiple rounds and the blast of homemade explosives. My army is winning the battle.
I slightly smile. I turn back to Diana Moon Glampers. Three months ago you executed a boy
whose name was Harrison Bergeron. A look of understanding comes across her face. Ah, the
one who called himself The Emperor, I am guessing that you want to avenge your brother, is
it? She says. Yes, he was my brother, but I am not here to avenge him. I answer. Come off it
Bergeron. We both know that you want to kill me, so why dont you finish it here and now? She
says. I know what she wants, she wants the easy way out. I look down many civilians have their
handicaps on. They dont know what to do. Ill give them something to do. I grab Diana Moon
Glampers and before I give her to the crowd I say. How about we let them decide. Fear, my
greatest weapon was now instilled into her. I throw her into the crowd and at first they dont
know what to do, but then someone piles their handicaps on her. Then the rest of the crowd
follows suit, except most throw their handicaps at her. At some point Diana died either because
of be beaten to death or crushed. But they still piled their handicaps onto her.
