On behalf of the Ministerial Search Committee and the members, friends, and staff of
this wonderful community, let me extend a warm welcome to you. We appreciate the
time you are taking to get to know us better by reading our packet.
We have been with our interim minister, Rev. Eric Posa, for the past two years. Prior to
that UCH, enjoyed a successful thirteen-year settled ministry. The church grew
significantly during Rev. Howard Danas tenure, and as a result the congregation by a
narrow vote opted to purchase a second campus in the inner city. It has brought with it
numerous issues for us to face and tremendous opportunities to live out our faith that
many churches never have.
While we struggle with how to be one church with two very distinct campuses, there is a
great deal of passion for the work being done in all areas of social justice. We hope that
new professional leadership will help us see a more clear way to continue the ministries
we have and move forward as one to Build Bridges and Celebrate Community.
We know that we need to move forward, and our lay leadership has the vision to
support that movement. What we need now is a new professional leader, a senior
minister who can share that vision with us.
We are excited to exchange information with you as we get to know each other better.
