GUIDELINES FOR LAPTOP WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY

Due to the TCENet based authentication implemented for wireless connectivity inside our
campus, the following guidelines may please be followed:
I) One-Time Configuration required for Windows OS:
1. Go into Manage wireless networks or Setup a new wireless network

2. Click Add a new wireless network.

3. Select Manually create a network profile

4. (1) Type in your nearby access point name displayed


(2) Choose WPA2-Enterprise for the security type
(3) Set the encryption type to AES
(4) Click Next

(5) After the network has been added - choose Change connection settings

5. (1) Click the Security Tab.


(2) Choose Microsoft Protected EAP (PEAP) for the authentication method.

6. (1) Click Settings


(2) Uncheck the Validate Server Certificate check box.
(3) Set authentication method to Secure Password (EAP-MSCHAP v2)

(4) Make sure the "Enable Fast Reconnect" check box is checked.

7. (1) Click Configure.


(2) Uncheck automatically use my Windows Logon name and password.

(3) Check the specify authentication mode as User authentication

Click OK to return to the list of configured networks.


An "Additional Info required for this Network" message will appear down by the task bar.
Click on the message and enter your TCENet Userid and Password and start browsing. It is a
One-Time configuration only.
