a. X = general description of Gods nature, with superior qualities derivable from X
b. X applies only to God: mind cannot think of anything greater than God
c. That God = X is universally accepted among monotheistic religions

a. Mental Existence (ME)
i. Depends on the mind
b. Real Existence (RE)
i. Independent of human consciousness
c. Anselm: ME + RE > ME, always

3. Premise 2 in Proslogion 2: X with ME + RE > X with only ME

4. Crucial Point: the fool admits that X exists as ME


5. If X only has mental existence, a contradiction arises: simultaneously affirming and denying X,
thus X also has RE.
