FOREWORD
Ministry of Public Health is starting to improve their
health personnel for Asean Economic Community (AEC) to serve
incoming workforce in 2015 by educating them on language
skills. The focus is on Thailands neighbor languages such as
Cambodian, Burmese and Laotian which mainly and regularly
come for services. To promote preventive and corrective
fundamental healthcare services efficiently, an essential
language manual booklet is deeply needed.
As a result, Bureau of Public Health asks International
Healthcare Division to modify their essential language manual
for healthcare service to print and publish a translation guide
for health personnel working in Thailand. The update and
modification brings a new guide which is easy to use for
healthcare workforces and it helps to clearly understand how
to communicate their foreign patients.
Thank you
Bureau of Health Administration
July 2014.
