One hand to operate the polisher, the other hand to control its movement
Zigzag motion, from front going backwards

Window Cleaning

Always have wet and dry rags to clean the edges. Use rubber gloves to protect your hands. Have
extra rags on hand.

Use a pail of water to dip the squeegee/sponge to clean the window. Squeeze
out excess water from sponge with the wet rag onto the pail.

Start cleaning the window with a sponge in circular motion. Then from top to bottom and from
left to right side of the window. (Sponge in vertical position, then in horizontal position)

Remove excess water using the squeegee part (rubber). From top to bottom (squeegee in
vertical position) then from left to right (squeegee in horizontal position.) From time to
time, wipe the squeegee with a dry rag to remove the water.

Spray the liquid glass cleaner to the top part of the window.

Use the squeegee to clean the window with the liquid glass cleaner. From top to bottom,
squeegee in horizontal position to spread the liquid glass cleaner. Remove excess liquid with
the dry rag.

Then remove excess liquid by having your

squeegee move in vertical direction from top
to bottom, going to the right.

Lastly, wipe the bottom edge of the window

with a dry rag.

Bed Making

Bed pad

Smoothen the
linen through the
use of the dorsal
side of the palm
(back of the hand)
to prevent
contamination
(hygiene
purposes).

Miter corners

Second sheet, wrong

side up. Head part to
the level of the head
board. No need to
tuck sides and foot
part yet.

Third sheet, 8-10

inches away from
the head board.
Right side or printed
side up. No need to
tuck sides or foot
part yet.

Blanket to the level

of the third sheet.

Eliminate creases or
folds through the use
of the back of your
hand.

Fold the second sheet

(wrong side up)
towards the blanket.
Use the blanket edge
as the fold line. Once
folded, the printed
side will appear. Fold
once again.

Start tucking the

sides and foot
part. Add the
pillows.

Miter corners
(foot part).

Opening part of the

pillow cases should
face towards each
other.
For single bed, the
pillow case opening
should face away
from the door.

Add the
comforter.

Add a little fold at

the edge of the
pillows as design.

Preparing for Turn Down (the guest will sleep)

Remove and fold the comforter.

For single/one person, 90 degree fold. Tuck the side.

For two persons/double, 45 degree fold. Tuck the sides for a neat
presentation.

Use the dorsal side of palm (back of the hand) to smoothen.

Stripping the Bed

For fast stripping, hold the middle part of one edge and the center of the
linen or blanket. Lift them higher to fold the center.

With one hand at the center, fold the two middle edges toward each other.

The same procedure can be used in folding new linens. This folding
technique enables the task to be finished faster.

When asked to do a demo for a TESDA NC II, dont forget to introduce yourself. Explain the
preparation activities such as the materials needed and safety measures. Explain the different
steps while executing them at the same time. End the demo by explaining the safety
measures needed before returning the materials to the cabinet or storage area.
Example, in ironing, the cord should be checked first for defects or animal bites. After ironing,
the iron should be turned off and the plug should be pulled out of the socket. Let it cool first
before returning it to storage. Ironing board should also be folded and returned to the storage.
These will prevent accidents and safety for the children who may be running around the area
once you have finished the task.
