To Whom It May Concern:
Ourcountryisinastateofconstantchangeandinnovationandinordertobesuccessful,our
childrenwillhavetolearnhowtochangeandadaptwithit.Inordertomeetthedemandsofthese
changes,wewillneedleaderswhocanproblemsolve,problemfind,understand,andbeableto
connectwiththeverystudentstheyarechargedtoeducate.Neverhastherebeenmoreofaneed
forqualifiedadministrativecandidatesasinthe21 stCentury.Oneofthesequalified
administratorcandidatesisMikeJohnson.
IhavehadtheopportunitytogetknowMikethesepasttenyearsfirstasa7/8gradeteacherand
nowmorerecentlyasa7thgradeteacheratLongfellow/LDIMiddleSchool.Heisoneofthose
educatorsthathaveahighmissiontobeateacher.Helovesteachingandtheimpacthehason
studentgrowthovertime.HehasbeenanintegralpartofthefabricofLongfellowinmanyways
includingdesigning/implementingauthenticexperiencesforourstudentswiththeirenvironment,
impactingtheirlivesbyworkingwiththemoneononetoreallyaidtheminunderstandingthe
curriculumwhenotherscouldnot,andforprovidingavoiceofreasonastotheprocessesofour
schoolandhowwehecanconstantlybebetterasaneducator.
WhenIdiscoveredthathehadaninterestinadministration,Iaskedhimifhewasdesirousof
takingontheseresponsibilities,orifitwasanopportunitytodabbleinanothermedium,soto
speak.Hestatedthatalthoughhetrulylovesteachingandbeingintheclassroomhewantedto
takethenextstepsinordertoaidstudentseducationally.Iseethisasanoblecauseandonethat
willtakehimfar.
Mikesstrengthslieinhisrapportwithstudentsandstaff,curriculummastery,adaptability,and
hisabilitytoseethebigpicture.Whatthesecourseswillprovideforhimaretheprocessesthat
makeupthetotalityoftheprincipalship.IalsobelieveattendingyourUniversitywillcementhis
desiretobeanadministrator.
IwouldhighlyrecommendMikeJohnsonforentranceintotheViterboUniversityAdministrator
Programsothathecanfurtherhisadministrativeandeducationalgoals.
