They started with the example of George Clooney as brand ambassador from US to China to gain
acceptance via glamour and representation of American dream and culture. This was used as their
metaphor.

They discussed how America was spreading the consumerism of the american dream which they had
propagated in order to change its image post world war, painting an ideal happy family image but in
reality it is selling America to the world. They used examples of some American products with
portrayed qualities of affordability and equality, selling freedom etc and linked this idea of selling
freedom to a form of economic war while maintaining the image of global guardian of liberty.

Class Division was explained with example of how people strive to achieve the material possessions
been pushed onto them like iphone. They talked about Form vs Content in the context of freedom
and good american life vs World as their economic system with well explained examples of Walmart,
Apple and their exploitation and impact of and on consumerism.

Lastly, they talked about the American foreign policy and their so called Allies, Capitalism, Energy
Security etc and linked Middle east policy to oil, Isreal to capitalism etc. In the end they returned
to their metaphor of soft power of glamour: George Clooney

They did not however, explicitly state their hypothesis, but it was implicitly understandable

Delivery : 9/9

Presentation was made in the form of interaction between news presenters. They maintained the act
throughout making it an interesting and captivating way to present. The speech was fluent,
seemingly well practiced and with clear thought process in terms of reasoning and flow

Use of videos and images made the presentation more attention catching. Slides had minimal text
with only the highlighted major points and rest was spoken.

There was clear communication and they finished in time
