When abrasive television star Maggie Swanell is diagnosed with tongue cancer,
everything she thought was true becomes a question mark. With death staring her in the
face, Maggie embarks on a trip into the heart of Ecuadors Amazon in a reluctant attempt
to reconnect with her world-travelling mother. In this heartfelt piece of minimalist solo
theatre, actor Colette Nichol will take you on a ride from the grey drizzle of Vancouver,
where our story starts, and into the buzzing hazy heat of the jungle as Maggie searches

Performer Bio
Born in Vancouver, but raised on a vineyard in Naramata, B.C., Colette Nichol has had a
colourful and unpredictable life. After studying acting professionally in both Toronto and
Vancouver, Nichol was drawn to South America, where she spent five years teaching
English and learning Spanish. Now back in Canada, Nichol creates videos for her indie
media company Story Envelope Media, as well as continuing to act and write.
