Dear Erin Duggan Sanders,
I greatly admire your organization and the mission of REC Inc. The goal of REC is to
bring developmentally disabled adults together and spend time doing activities.
While doing these recreational activities, they get to enjoy their lives and appreciate
each day. This to me is beyond special and a great idea.
I am an eighth grade student at Del Mar Middle School, and I am fortunate enough to
have volunteered at your organization a few times. I have great memories from
volunteering there that I will never forget. I always have the best time, and it feels so
special to laugh, talk, dance, and hang out with these amazing people. Your program
is really life changing. It is great to get to meet new people in my community.
Every time I volunteer your clients inspire me. They show me that no matter what
deck of cards your dealt with, that you should enjoy your life with people in your
community and people you love. They are always so energetic and happy around the
volunteers and they rarely complain or get frustrated. This has truly made me think
about my life, and how to enjoy every moment and how I should always stay happy.
Your organization definitely influenced me, and it will continue to influence so many
more people in our world. The adults at REC have made me a better person over all,
and will continue to change my outlook on life.
Going into the future, I really hope REC becomes more well known, with more staff,
and exciting activities. Overall, thank you so much for all that you do to make REC
Inc as amazing as it is. I appreciate all of your hard work and time spent to grow this
organization.
