Press Release

January 12, 2015

In honor of the prophetic ministry and moral leadership of Rev. Dr. Martin
Luther King The Canaan Baptist Church and Rev. Dr. Christopher Alan
Bullock will host a private movie screening of SELMA on Monday, January
19, 2015 in Wilmington, Delaware at the Penn Cinema Riverfront Movie
Theater at 5:00 p.m. to celebrate and commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King
on Martin Luther Day.
In light of current national events throughout 2014 that have sparked
race-related conversations, protests, marches, die-ins and heated debates,
we believe gathering collectively as one church and community to witness a
film that captures the spirit of Equal Rights campaigning in the historic
march from Selma to Montgomery led by Dr. Martin Luther King will elicit
some very healthy dialogue and stimulate robust ideas on how as one,
unified church and community we can move together toward a greater
Delaware for all who live here.
As such, the movie screening will be immediately followed by a 45-minute
live, question and answer session moderated by Rev. Dr. Christopher
Bullock, our Senior Pastor. We are hoping that you will join us at this
event.
Tickets can be purchased on Wednesday before and after WOW services or
after both services on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Canaan Baptist Church
or by contacting Dr. Nakishia W. Bailey at 302.354.9570 or
drkishbailey@gmail.com.
The tickets are $10.00 and will include movie ticket, popcorn, and a
drink. They are available on a first-come, first serve basis. Please
share this event with your respective community.
Please contact Dr. Nakishia Bailey at 302.354.9570 or
