Roraima is my dream
My dream is to know an unpredictable place, where my steps will be full of
uncertainty and where surprises and emotions are not programmed in a schedule.
Will be lovely Aa trip where I can establish my own rhythm will be lovely, where
problems have freedom to come out and force me to probe myself that I can get over them
alone, because that's another point, I want to travel alone, I want to see something beautiful
that never goes out of my mind, it must be unique and magnificent but the most important
is that it has to represent a physical and mental challenge. It can't be easy, neithernor quick,
noror comfortable, it must be exigent.
Every time I think in Roraima I realized that it is what I'm looking for. It's in the
exact limit where marvelous is realizable, close enough to feel the attraction and at the
same time so far that it could be another world.
Roraima is one of the most famous tepuys in Canaima National Park, in it hasd been
found exotic species of plants and butterflies there, and it has beautiful cascades
surrounding it. Actually, the name Roraima comes from two words of the pemn native
tongue: roro (who means bluish green water) and ima (who means mother or goddess), the
translation will be The Mother of Waters, in reference to the waterfalls who come from it.
The trip to Roraima involved a bunch of stops over: Merida-Barquisimeto-Puerto
Ordaz-Santa Elena de Uairen and finally Roraima mount, all that before start climbing the
upland. All the days inside a bus with my body getting stiff will be the easiesty part. When I
amll be at the piedmont and I face the 3000 meters high, I will take conscience and realize
that Im not playing games, but the simple fact of admiring that giant will make me
recuperate my forces, Im sure.
When I start to ascend and breaking through the clouds probably Ill probably be in
ecstasy. Every time I climb a mountain is the same feeling of indescribable happiness. That
is why Roraima is my dream.
GOING THERE IS ONE OF MY DREAMS TOO
