To Whom It May Concern:
‘My name is Kacie Robinson and I am a fourth grade teacher at Glen Avenue School. Mikaela Knight
worked with me in my reading classroom from approximately August 2014 through October 2014. I
would highly recommend her for a teaching position
Ms. knight was always prompt and reliable. She was prepared for lessons on a daily basis and was willing
to carry out or pick-up any responsibilities she was given. She arrived at school early and stayed late as
needed. She also attended after school events. Ms. Knight always dressed and carried herself very
professionally.
In our classroom, Ms. Knight had multiple opportunities daily to work with an extremely diverse group of
students, Many of our students have IEPs with varying degrees of need and accommodations. She also
worked with ELL students in our classroom. Ms. Knight became accustomed to modifying and adapting
assignments, tasks, and directions to reach all learners.
Ms, Knight developed meaningful, caring, and positive relationships with our students. She spent time
building rapport and getting to know our students. She then, was able to use her relationships with them
to push them towards academic success.
One of Ms. Knight's biggest strengths is her self-reflectiveness. Throughout our time together, she was
always seeking advice, asking questions, and inquiring about other methods or strategies for
improvement. I greatly enjoyed co-planning with Ms. Knight, and I think the time was beneficial for both
of us, Ms, Knight had new and innovative ideas, which turned into effective, engaging lessons
‘Ms, Knight created lessons that met instructional standards for our county. She also created
assessments that matched those standards and used them to determine the need for future instruction.
Ms. Knight is continuing to work on creating critical thinking questions that correlate with the standard
and pushing the students beyond literal type questions.
Throughout her time in our classroom, Ms. Knight developed her ability to assess and gauge students
understanding. She used test data, formal/informal assessments, exit-slips, etc. to plan lessons for
enrichment and re-teaching. She assisted in the grouping of students for interventions, leveled texts,
and skill-based lessons,
Ms. Knight has been greatly missed in our classroom. She established professional relationships with our
special education teacher, special education assistant, partner teachers, and administration here; as well
as, the students who admire her.
Sincerely,
