Differences in skills and abilities

Skill, and Ability are words that are often used in sports writing and by athletic
coaches. They are often times taken to represent the same thing; however, this
cannot always be the case at hand. Both have their own repercussions and
perceptions, but the two are often joined. These characteristics of life are important
in the exercise programs and practices of everyone in the workplace and need to be
calculated to absorb the chosen activity. Skill, It exists within all aspects of life, as
well as in different skills. A skill is more seen as a harmonized act, containing a
group of movements put together in a consistent and even manner. There are
several interpretations as to what defines a skillful movement as views differ from
novice (noob) to expert level. Skill has been defined by a number of different
experts. The following are two definitions: "An organized co-ordinated activity in
relation to an object or situation, which involves a whole chain of sensory, central
and motor mechanisms." (Welford, et al 2000) Technique is sometimes confused
with skill but there is a clear difference. Skill is the performance of an action,
whereas technique is how the action is performed. The method of performing the
action is important because an effective technique means more success in
achieving any goal.
