City of Farmers Branch, Texas

WHEREAS
Willie Wayne Young has been a fixture in Farmers Branch, perfecting his shoe
shine technique at Griffin’s Barbershop for more than 10 years; and
Mr. Young is also a prolific artist, producing at least one drawing a day for the
past 50 years; and
Mr. Young’s art has been featured in art exhibits in Chicago, New York,
Philadelphia and New Jersey; and
His work can currently be seen at the African American Museum at Fair Park,
through November 29
Now, therefore, I, Tim O’Hare, Mayor of the City of Farmers Branch, Texas, by
the authority vested in me and on behalf of our City Council, do hereby proclaim
November 3, 2009
as
Willie Wayne Young Day
in Farmers Branch, Texas.
