Week of January 18-22

Reading
This week we continue incorporating our Unit of
Inquiry into our reading block as we compare and
contrast different explorers using a Venn diagram.
Later in the week students will be exposed to
biographies of different explorers to help prepare
for their final UOI project which will involve
creating a biography of a specific explorer.
Finally, on Thursday we will conduct a grammar
review on common and proper nouns and
capitalization rules.

Math
We had a long, but successful
week last week learning about
partial quotients division. This
week students will use what
they have learned and follow it
up with solving word problems
and determining what the meaning of the remainder is, based
on the question. The final part
of the week will be spent reviewing for the unit four assessment, which will be on Monday,
January 26.
