The quiz will be given at any time, at your TA's discretion, during your tutorial section.
You are required to complete the quiz in 10 minutes.
1. English meaning of kanji. Multiple choice. (kanji #13 - #25 of Chapter 4 of YOOKOSO! An
Invitation to Contemporary Japanese [Workbook pp.227-229])
You will be asked to select the English meaning for the words given in kanji #13 - #25.
(6 words/phrases: 0.5 pt. each)
Study all the examples of kanji use and their English meanings in the workbook, which are given
in the section below the typed and handwritten forms of kanji.
2. Reading kanji. (kanji #13 - #25: same as above)
You will be asked to write the reading in hiragana for the words given in kanji #13 - #25.
(5 kanji: 1 pt. each)
Study all the examples of kanji use in the Workbook, which are given in the section below the
typed and handwritten forms of kanji.
3. Writing kanji. (kanji #13 - #25: same as above)
You will be asked to write one kanji. (1 pt.)
When practicing writing kanji, pay attention to the starting and ending points of each line as well
as the line's direction and length.
4. Usage of kanji. Multiple choice. (kanji #13 - #25: same as above)
You will be asked to select the correct kanji that fits in the context. (1 pt.)
5. Grammar.
You will be asked to write out the te-form or the ta-form of the given verbs.
