ThedecisiontoholdtheeventwastakenduringameetingofNationalAssociationofSoftwareandServicesCompanies
(Nasscom)delegationcomprisingitspresidentR.ChandrashekharandvicechairmanB.V.R.MohanReddywithChief
MinisterK.ChandrasekharRaohereonFriday.MinisterforITK.T.RamaRaoandotherofficialsalsoparticipatedin
themeeting.
Speakingtonewspersonslater,Mr.ChandrashekharsaidWCIT2018wasexpectedtocreateopportunitiesforbusiness
worthUS$2trillionbesideshelpingbrandbuildingofHyderabad,innovationplatformsandjobs.Heexplainedthat
Hyderabadwaschosenasthevenueforthe2018eventasitwasaleadingIThubinthecountry,hadglobalrecognition
andtherewasproactivegovernmentandexcellentinfrastructureintheState.
Issuessuchascybersecurity,globalcollaborativemodels,ITcontinuingeducationpolicies,globalconvergence,future
oftechnologyandotherswouldbediscussedatthemeettobeattendedbyover2,500delegatesfrom80countries.
Mr.RamaRaosaidtheChiefMinisterandhewouldvisittheUS,theUKandothercountriestoinvitethebigwigsofthe
ITindustrytothe2018event.
AgovernmentdelegationwouldvisittheeventtobeheldnextyearinBrazilaspartofthepreparationsfor2018event.
TheStateGovernmentwouldreleaseUSD1millionfundsfortheeventbyMarch.
Earlier,theChiefMinistertoldtheNasscomdelegationthat4GtechnologywouldbecomeavailableintheStateand
Telanganawouldbecomepowersurplusbythetimetheeventwasheld.
HealsoexplainedthemaboutthenewindustrialpolicyunveiledbytheStaterecently.Hestatedthat5,000acresland
wouldbeearmarkedforITParksoonanditwouldhaveacoupleofhelipadsbesidesresidential,shoppingand
entertainmentfacilities.
