Catch the vision.

Forge believes that God is at work in Flint. We

also believe that God has called us to join the
work of restoring Flint, working towards fulfilling
Gods prayer, on earth as it is in Heaven. We
also believe that together we can achieve more
than apart.

Our spring camps seek to connect students to

the mission of God and to create environments
where they can experience firsthand personal
transformation and growth. We believe this
happens by pushing our existing comfort zones,
meeting others where theyre at, and changing
our preconceived notions of people and
communities.

Spring work projects

Students can expect to be plugged into one of
Forges many work projects and service
partnerships. The main form of work will involve
boarding up abandoned houses (weather
permitting) alongside the Genessee County Land
Bank. Board ups are a relatively small task that
have an incredibly large impact on the
community of Flint. By boarding up abandoned
houses, you are creating safer environments for
residents of the neighborhood and also
discouraging various forms of illegal activity that
abandoned buildings often attract.

Along with board ups, there are potential

opportunities to serve with other partner
organizations in the community.

I pray we enter in. I pray we come like the Greeks
to Philip in John 12:21, saying, We want to see
Jesus. May the Holy Spirit meet us as we come,
and may our souls dance with abandon in the
pages of this beautiful Story we did not write.

This summer, Forge is hosting a week of summer

camp for local teens from Flint. Most of these teens
will be unable to pay for their week at Forge. In
anticipation of this need, Forge is setting aside
money for these local teens camp fund. We
encourage you to prayerfully consider rounding up
on your spring break trip cost, so as to support
these teens out of your overflow. Any amount
received over the $180 trip cost will be set aside to
specifically fund a week of camp for a teen in need.
